How to care for your Dieffenbachia Tropic Marianne?

Light

Dieffenbachia species do best in moderate light conditions. A spot with partially shade or a bit of filtered indirect sunlight would be perfect. This makes the Dieffenbachia ideal to brighten up a darker place in your home!

Water

Dieffenbachia Tropic Marianne doesn’t like to have wet feet. Water only when the top few centimeters of the soil is dry. In most cases watering once every other week should do the trick. When the leaves start to droop a little it’s the perfect time to water.

Soil

A good soil mixture is the start of a happy Dieffenbachia. A soil mixture that has some water retention qualities on one hand and can reassure some aeration on the other hand would be ideal. A good quality potting soil, mixed with some perlite should work.

Humidity

Dieffenbachia species do well in a place with a slightly higher than average humidity level. Try keeping it at a minimum of 60%, preferable a little bit higher. When the humidity drops too low the leaves can become crispy and that would be a shame of the gorgeous foliage.

Fertilization

The growing season is the perfect time to fertilize your Dieffenbachia Tropic Marianne. In winter time fertilizing is not required. When using a fertilizer always read the instructions on the bottle before using.

Repotting

The best time to repot is during the beginning of the growing season. Check if your plant is root bound in it’s nursery pot. Then it’s time to move it to a bigger size pot of around 2 cm extra. Generally repotting your Maranta every year should be sufficient.

Toxicity

The Dieffenbachia is toxic for humans and animals when ingested.
